Budget Analyst

Job Overview CGI is seeking a Budget Analyst to provide administrative support to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Washington, DC. The position is located at 500 12th Street SW, Washington DC 20024, and carries a non‑negotiable hourly rate of $27.41. Responsibilities Formulate, analyze, administer, and monitor organization budgets. Prepare budget estimates to support programs and present/justify them. Administer approved budgets, determine funding requirements within authorized limits. Evaluate and administer requests for funds, monitor and control obligations and expenditures. Develop and interpret budget policies. Assist in developing budgets by comparing projected costs to schedules. Assist in budget administration by examining reports for deviations in status of financial obligations and expenditures. Work under close supervision with clearly defined assignments, methods, and reporting to supervisors. Communicate effectively orally and in writing, read and apply Federal policy, directives, and regulations. Gather and research data using standard fact‑gathering methodologies. Work independently and as part of a team. Qualifications Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with Windows, Adobe, MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word), SharePoint, and Teams. Strong personal computer skills and ability to learn additional software. Required Experience and Education 1–3 years of experience in correspondence or a related field. High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to complete CGI background investigation and a Department of Justice Modified Risk Public Trust waiver. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to perform as a team member. Desired Qualifications Any additional skills or credentials that are not required but would enhance the candidate. Benefits Hourly rate: $27.41/hr.
