Job Description:

\n

\n
• Reviews staffing and census of all nursing units to ensure consistency with budget and patient needs, adjusting staff as necessary.
\n
• Facilitates patient admissions and patient flow.
\n
• Makes frequent rounds throughout the hospital to assess and resolve issues and incidents.
\n
• Provides consultation to staff as needed.
\n
• Promotes good interpersonal relations between all departments.
\n
• Assists staff in obtaining equipment and supplies as needed.
\n
• Provides crisis intervention for all hospital departments. Responds to and leads all code events.
\n

\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
\n • Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing [Required]
\n • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
\n • Basic computer skills [Required]
\n • Previous nursing management experience [Preferred]
\n • Previous experience with Cerner electronic medical record [Preferred]

Education:
\n • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
\n • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:
\n • 3+ years experience in acute patient care [Required]
\n • Critical Care or Emergency Department experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
\n • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
\n • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
\n • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
\n • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
