Physician Opportunity At Marion, Il Va Medical Center

The Marion, IL VA Medical Center is seeking a physician to join their primary care team. Duties include but are not limited to diagnosing, treating, and managing a panel of patients; providing comprehensive patient-centered primary medical care; identifying acute/non-acute, chronic health problems; using principles of risk management to identify system issues which impact patient care; ordering and evaluating appropriate diagnostic tests; adhering to clinical practice guidelines for patient chronic disease; conducting appropriate preventative screens and diagnostic tests; providing appropriate disposition of identified health care problems; participating in primary care multidisciplinary activities; informing veterans to accomplish shared decision making in medical treatment/regimens; demonstrating medical expertise in diagnosing and treating multi-symptomatic patients; adhering to local policies, procedures, and directives related to timeliness of documentation and encounters for verification of patient visits, findings, and medical recommendations in the electronic medical record; using computerized patient record system to review and update patient's electronic medical record; maintaining view alerts; utilizing telehealth services; and supervising mid-levels.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. May include extended hours or an occasional Saturday based on patient needs. Due to the nature of the work, the physician may occasionally be required to stay later than 4:30 pm, as required.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid time off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No physician employment contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
