Job TitlePay Range: $22.00hr - $24.00hrRequirement/Must HaveValid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.Minimum of 6 months’ work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.ResponsibilitiesAssist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.Perform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) in a clear and courteous manner.Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and fully understand physician orders.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperature and place samples in appropriate collection containers.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.SkillsVenipuncture.Specimen Labeling.Centrifugation.Straight Needles.Butterfly Needles.Microsoft Office Suite.OSHA Compliance.DEP Regulations.Qualification And EducationHigh School Diploma or GED.Valid State Phlebotomy Certification.
