Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) working with students across multiple school sites in a dynamic school district near Arlington Heights, IL. This contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting children’s development and independence in educational environments. As an itinerant COTA, you'll provide vital services to a diverse caseload, ranging from PreK to transition-age students (up to 22 years old), across elementary, middle, and high schools. Each site maintains its own unique schedule, so adaptability and strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable
• Must be able to obtain and complete fingerprinting requirements for credentialing
• Skilled in collaborating with occupational therapists and educational staff to develop and carry out therapeutic interventions
• Ability to work effectively across various age groups and adjust approaches based on student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students per IEPs, under the supervision of an OT
• Document and track progress, maintaining clear and timely records
• Collaborate with school teams, families, and related service providers to maximize student outcomes
• Adapt and modify activities to enhance student participation in daily school life
• Travel between assigned school sites within the district

This position offers a full-time schedule (35-37.5 hours per week) following the academic calendar, starting as soon as possible and extending through June 9, 2027.
