In 2025, its commitment to quality and excellence in the workplace earned it recognition as a winner in the Providence Business News Best Places to Work in Rhode Island. #PBNBPTWIf you are seeking a rewarding position with an opportunity for career growth – we want, YOU on our team!PURPOSE:Supervises the truck drivers; oversees the fleet; schedules duties of the fleet; responsible for utilizing the fleet in the most efficient and cost-effective manner; assists in driver development and training; handles incoming calls regarding deliveries; and any duties assigned by the Logistics Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Schedules and dispatches drivers, fleet vehicles or equipment to locations according to work orders for deliveryCoordinates all deliveries and pick upsEnsures that the drivers fill out inspection reports and mileage logs dailyConducts random checks of the vehicles to assure cleanliness and readinessInvoices all orders, editing all noted tallies and changes, and reprinting backordersAssists and/or provides directions to the jobsites using navigation softwareReviews fleet and personnel needs seasonally, reporting necessary changes to the Operations ManagerCommunicates with supervisors or customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipmentOTHER JOB DUTIES:Answers incoming calls calmly and effectivelyFiling of orders/invoices dailyAssists in the upkeep of the office and workstation(s)Promotes safety to all the driversAll other duties Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasksCOMPETENCIES/SKILLS:Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any type of condition.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Ability to carry out instructions in written, verbal and graph formAbility to read maps as well as being able follow instructions/directionsMust be high energy and have a positive attitudeMust ne detail oriented and organized.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:Ability to lift or move up to 100 lbs.Stand, sit, bend, kneel and repetitive for extended periods of timeAbility to sit for long periods of timeClimb stairs while carrying heavy objectsWorks in inclement weather conditionsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or GED preferredDriver experience in the lumber industry, and/or a dispatching background would be beneficialVast knowledge of lumber and associated building suppliesValid drivers license as well as the insurability for drivingForklift certification (preferred)Forklift Trainer certification (preferred)We offer a comprehensive benefits package offering flexible options to meet your healthcare needs and a robust 401(k) and Roth retirement savings program.
