Electronics Technician 3 - Washington DC / 100% Travel

Position Overview We are seeking an Electronics Technician 3 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of SES, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets. Responsibilities In this role you will support field office operations, perform system maintenance, and complete installation and sustainment activities across multiple locations. Essential responsibilities and activities include: Travel is required to support field office operations. Lead teams on small to moderately complex installation projects. Conduct and document daily toolbox talks. Install head‑end equipment at both the local and enterprise level in accordance with design packages. Program head‑end equipment for Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV systems. Troubleshoot and isolate system and hardware issues at both local and global levels. Provide on‑site software commissioning and testing. Perform inspections, evaluations, and inventory. Manage and monitor access control systems within the Bosch Intrusion Detection System (IDS), including configuring permissions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with security policies. Test access control, database, and system integrations, including credentials, access levels, and visitor workflows. Support user training by preparing materials and assisting with workshops as directed. Document preventive maintenance, test results, calibrations, and performance metrics. Support annual comprehensive maintenance activities at field office locations. Support remote quarterly system health checks and on‑site follow‑up as required. Qualifications Clearance/Citizen Type: Must possess and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain SCI clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required in accordance with government contract requirements. Driver Requirements: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Education HS diploma or GED and one of the following: Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours). Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program. Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program. An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities. Required Progressive Experience 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs. 3+ years of the above experience must be focused on electronic security systems. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills. Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated time‑management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives. Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are a plus. Travel is required. Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance. Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders. Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. Possess good vision (may be corrected), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English. Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools. Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong (identification, not problem solving). Apply general rules to specific problems to produce correct answers.
