Tech - Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Echo Tech performs high-quality diagnostic echocardiographic procedures under the supervision of a Cardiologist. This role involves utilizing ultrasound equipment to assess cardiac structures and functions, providing critical information for cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiograms according to protocol, ASE guidelines, and physician orders.
• Operate ultrasound and diagnostic imaging equipment to capture detailed cardiac images, including contrast agent techniques when appropriate.
• Analyze echocardiographic data and prepare preliminary reports for cardiologist review.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostics and patient care.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and images in PACS or EMR systems.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a focus on Cardiac Sonography.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography experience; 3 years preferred.
• Experience with Stress and TEE techniques is preferred.
• Ability to perform detailed cardiac imaging and analysis, with knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathology.
