Food Service Worker 02 INT 6820 Location: Kodiak, AK, US | Intermittent (0‑19 hrs/wk) | Salary: $18.23/hour Who May Apply: All Sources | Position: Food Service Worker 02 | Announcement 6820 | Closing Date: Until Filled Duties Sets up food service counters, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food, including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages. Serves food cafeteria‑style to diners, and family‑style by placing dishes and refilling as necessary. Prepares coffee in large urns based on required servings, and makes a variety of fruit and vegetable salads. Serves food in standard portions with uniform amounts in small dishes or glasses. Prepares simple sandwiches and packs box lunches. Cleans kitchen and dining area equipment, washes dishes, pots, pans, and coffee urn. Operates mechanical dishwasher, maintaining water and detergent levels and cleaning properly. Clears and cleans dining tables, sweeps, mops, and waxes floors, disposes of food wastes and trash. Assists in unloading supply trucks and storing heavy supplies. Completes work independently after initial instructions; supervisor checks timely completion. Adheres to safety regulations, uses required safety equipment, and reports hazards or injuries. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be 18 years or older to apply. Qualifications Required (Minimum) Previous work experience in a food service facility. Experience with common sanitation standards in handling and serving food. Ability to read, understand written material, follow instructions, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training. Physical ability to frequently lift objects up to 40 pounds and to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods. Preferred (in addition to the minimum) One year or more of food service experience.
