Emergency Department (ED) Unit Overview

Start Requirements

• Immediate need – RN must be able to start ASAP .
• Complete 4 hours of billable computer modules :
  • Modules are sent Monday–Tuesday of the week before the start date .
  • Must be completed by 7:00 AM on the Friday before the start date .
  • Add the 4 billable hours to the first week's timesheet .

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS
• AHA PALS
• TNS or TNCC
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience .

Unit Details

• 30-bed Emergency Department
  • 27 medical ED beds
  • 3 ED psychiatric beds
• Average daily census: Approximately 120 patients/day (range 100–140).
• Staffing: Based on average daily census (ADC) with various shift lengths.
• Assignment model: POD nursing .

• Level II Trauma Center
• Level II Stroke Center
• Chest Pain Accredited
• Full-service treatment center for Sexual Assault Survivors (SANE-capable services)
