Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU License: Valid compact or state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS and BLS certifications required Must-Have: - Previous travel nursing experience preferred - Familiarity with telemetry monitoring - Proficiency with IV starts - Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Description: Schedule is weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. Provide care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit. Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients. Utilize skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring. Familiarity with a specific electronic health record system for documentation is required. This position offers a dynamic schedule with the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment. The role may involve working with patients recovering from various medical conditions such as kidney and liver transplants, and other related diagnoses. Special procedures may include kidney biopsy recovery and paracentesis. Interdisciplinary support is available from various services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
