Infusion Registered Nurse

Location Baylor Scott and White Waxahachie Oncology Specialty Oncology/Infusion Clinic Hours Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm Shift PRN – required to pick up 1-2 shifts per month. No weekends, no call. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. Build relationships, manage discomfort, stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families. Reflect values in care plans to aid in resolving issues. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. Collaborate with colleagues and community to create care plans. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. Use different strategies for problem solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery. Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers’ development and community service commitment. Key Success Factors A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understanding of hospital procedures and rules. Proficiency in medical terms, with focus on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and side effects. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Exceptional communication skills, allowing clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing. Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with diverse parties. Excellent problem‑solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking. Basic computer skills, encompassing Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited program, specialized in nursing. Registered Nurse license. Valid BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting. Preferred Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration Certificate (ONS – Oncology Nursing Society).
