Coordinate and monitor the Service Plan process and ensure staff can carry out the plan of service. Promote the Freedom House philosophy, ensuring individualized care that results in quality services to residents and families. Advise direct care staff and administration on clinical issues arising in the application of quality care. Train and support staff in the appropriate implementation of resident care. Ensure medication administration is performed by qualified staff in strict compliance with state regulatory requirements. Motivate and evaluate personal care staff performance and competency. Develop and implement training programs. Provide day‑to‑day management of resident care. Monitor pharmacological aspects of Freedom House and coordinate pharmacy consults and follow‑up with Lead Care Givers. Maintain and monitor infection control policies. Monitor employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing for residents’ needs. Assist the Freedom House Director with routine and random audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Act as facility EMR liaison. Supervise licensed and non‑licensed nursing staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and appropriate remediation and counseling. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications and Certifications Required: Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas, in good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners. Required: Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications; valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record, insurable by Blue Skies carriers. Required: Previous geriatric experience and experience in management, including staff training of certified and uncertified personnel. Required: Supervisory experience monitoring certified and uncertified staff providing resident care. Training: Will have or be willing to complete Assisted Living Facility Management Training within the first six months and certify to teach CPR, First Aid, and AED. Preferred: Hands‑on nursing experience with geriatric residents; experience in staff development and supervision. Preferred: Geriatric and Dementia Care Certification in Long Term Care. Work Schedule Core hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Hours may change based on patient needs. Special projects may require additional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work Location Core hours Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week. Flexibility allowed with approval from the Freedom House Director. Some hours may fall outside core times to meet facility needs. Attire and Dress Code Conservative business attire is required.
