Registered Nurse, First Assist (RNFA) in Rochester, New York. Start date: September 14, 2026. Contract length: 17 weeks. Shift: 12-hour days. Responsibilities
- Provide RNFA services in the operative room, collaborating with the surgeon and the healthcare team to support safe procedures and optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform RNFA duties during the operative phase, including instrument handling, tissue management, hemostasis, and circulating duties as directed by the surgeon.
- When not assigned as RNFA, fulfill OR staff RN responsibilities (scrub and circulate) per perioperative standards.
- Maintain NY licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, complete an accredited RNFA program, and hold CNOR certification as required.
- Demonstrate DaVinci robotic surgery experience; support robotic approaches across listed specialties (urology, gynecology, colorectal, surgical oncology, thoracic, and general surgery) as available.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday daytime shifts; on-call responsibilities per unit need (until 11 pm); no weekends or holidays per unit need.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program
- CNOR certification
- DaVinci robotic experience required
- Two or more years of OR experience; level 1 trauma experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Perioperative nursing expertise with ability to scrub and circulate; strong teamwork and communication skills
