About the Position

Physician Assistant, Critical Care (Locums)

Location: New York

Schedule: Rotating days and nights. Typical 13 hour shifts.

Assignment length: 6 to 9 months

Position Overview

• Provide inpatient critical care coverage in a pediatric cardiac intensive care environment.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Comfortable managing congenital heart disease patients including complex anatomy and physiology.

Clinical Scope

• High acuity pediatric cardiac patients including pre and post operative cardiac surgery patients, arrhythmia management, vasopressor support, pacemakers, ECMO and CRRT.
• Role is not primarily procedural, but ICU procedural knowledge is expected.

Required Qualifications

• Physician Assistant.
• Active New York Physician Assistant license in good standing.
• Current national certification as a Physician Assistant.
• BLS.
• PALS.
• Two years of recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience.
• Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify.
