Assistant Controller

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed professional services organization is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its expanding finance and accounting team. This is a high-impact opportunity to work directly alongside executive leadership within a company scaling aggressively through acquisitions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, hands‑on mentality, and prior experience supporting M&A activity, acquisition integration, and multi‑entity accounting environments. This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a build‑out environment and is comfortable creating structure and processes within a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the month‑end close process across multiple entities Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting packages Support acquisition accounting, purchase accounting, and integration of newly acquired businesses Assist with consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and technical accounting matters Apply and interpret US GAAP related to business combinations, leases, revenue recognition, and other complex transactions Partner with leadership on financial reporting, process improvements, and operational scalability Support external audits, compliance activities, and investor reporting requirements Help implement and optimize accounting systems and workflows, including ERP enhancements Collaborate with both domestic and offshore accounting resources to ensure accurate and timely reporting Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong experience managing general ledger and close processes in a multi‑entity environment Prior M&A and acquisition integration experience is required Experience working within a private equity‑backed organization strongly preferred Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred Exposure to systems implementations and process improvements is a plus CPA or public accounting background highly preferred Must be comfortable operating in a hands‑on environment with evolving processes and limited infrastructure #J-18808-Ljbffr Addison Group
