Palmer's Contracting Group is seeking an experienced and driven General Foreman to lead our self-perform field operations across a wide range of commercial, government, and specialty projects. This hands-on role is responsible for coordinating multiple foremen, maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and supporting efficient and safe job site execution. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver who takes pride in clean, precise work and excels at leading teams through fast-paced interior buildouts.
RESPONSIBILITIES & CORE REQUIREMENTS
- Field Leadership: Work closely with site foremen, providing daily guidance, direction, and support to ensure consistent performance across all active projects.
- Project Oversight: Coordinate schedules, manpower assignments, and overall field execution to keep projects on track from framing through final finishes.
- Material Management: Confirm that materials and equipment are properly forecasted, ordered, and delivered to maintain productivity and avoid delays.
- Site Management: Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites that strictly adhere to OSHA standards and company protocols.
- Quality Control: Regularly review work in progress to ensure installations meet all specifications, quality expectations, and code requirements.
- Schedule Control: Monitor progress and adjust manpower or workflows as necessary to maintain alignment with master schedules.
- Technical Knowledge: Apply working experience in interior framing, drywall systems, acoustical ceilings, and door/hardware installation to train crews, solve field issues, and uphold standards.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Technical Skill: Ability to accurately read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and shop details with strong attention to detail.
- Reliability: Safety-focused, dependable, and capable of leading teams on active, fast-paced job sites.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently while supporting multiple foremen and field crews.
- Physical Capability: Able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work on scaffolding, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
MANDATORY PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen to meet eligibility requirements for certain government projects and secure site access.
- Drug Screening: Ability to pass a standard pre-employment urinalysis; must consent to random safety screenings.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background screening, required for certain government and commercial sites.
- Transportation: Valid REAL ID driver’s license and clean driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with advanced STC-rated wall and ceiling assemblies.
- Knowledge of TEMPEST and RF mitigation installation methods.
- Prior experience on commercial or government projects.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
