Leidos is seeking highly qualified and experienced Senior Spanish Linguist to support our National Security Programs. This role requires advanced linguistic and Interpretation capabilities and cultural knowledge to support a wide range of mission-critical activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Spanish Linguist linguist, you will engage in the full range of language services - bringing expertise to translation, interpretation, transcription, summarization, and analysis” Or “Step into the role of a linguist where you’ll apply your skills across the entire spectrum of language services -from translating and interpreting to transcribing, summarizing, and analyzing complex content. What You’ll Do:

You will provide professional-level linguistic support across translation, interpretation, transcription , and Gisting including but not limited to:

Translation

  Accurately translate written materials in both electronic and hard-copy formats.

\n
• \n

  Convey not only factual content but also nuanced meaning and implied context.

\n
• \n

  Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural references effectively.

\n
• \n

  Use terminology and expression consistent with subject matter norms in the target language.

\n

Interpretation

\n
• \n

  Provide accurate consecutive interpretation ; occasional simultaneous interpretation may be required.

\n
• \n

  Demonstrate understanding of one or more Spanish regional dialects.

\n

Transcription

\n
• \n

  Review audio and internet-based materials.

\n
• \n

  Transcribe with high levels of accuracy and fidelity to the original content.

\n
• \n

  Produce clear, well-written English-language reports .

\n

Gisting and Summarization

\n
• \n

  Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts accurately.

\n
• \n

  Prioritize and extract critical information from large datasets.

\n
• \n

  Use reference materials effectively to support quality output.

\n

Technical Skills

\n
• \n

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research tools is required.

\n
• \n

  Experience with HLT (Human Language Technology), CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools, Language Learning Model (LLM) is highly desired.

Qualifications:

\n
• \n

  TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required (must be fully adjudicated before work begins).

\n
• \n

  Bachelor’s degree with 8 – 12 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 6-10 years of related experience. (Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)

• \n

  4+ years of professional and recent translation and interpretation experience.

\n
• \n

  Must have interpretation skills.

\n
• \n

  Candidates must have experience in the Intelligence Community and Operations.

\n
• \n

  Must successfully complete a Leidos-administered language proficiency test or equivalent at the Senior level or higher

\n
• \n

  Translation and/or interpretation degree is highly desired

\n
• \n

  Familiarity with the U.S. Intelligence Community, military operations, or law enforcement environments.

\n
• \n

  Ability to effectively brief and communicate findings to various stakeholders.

\n
• \n

  Proficiency in multiple languages is a strong asset.

\n

Security Clearance:

\n
• \n

  TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required to begin work .

\n

Preferred Qualifications:

\n
• \n

  Prior experience supporting contingency operations as a deployed linguist.

\n
• \n

  Candidates must pass language proficiency testing.

\n
• \n

  Additional language proficiency is strongly preferred.

\n
• \n

  Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats in English and Target Language.
