Paralegal - Real Estate (Washington, D.C.)

Taft is seeking a paralegal to support our Real Estate practice group in Taft’s Washington, D.C. – Dupont Circle office. We are seeking a paralegal with 5+ years’ experience to support our Real Estate team. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy—in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients. Duties & Responsibilities Coordination and review of title and survey and managing proforma and policy terms Entity formation and maintenance Drafting authorizing resolutions Due diligence management Abstracting contracts Preparing checklist of critical dates and contract terms Drafting contract amendments and ancillary documents Drafting acquisition/sale documents and closing statement Preparing officer’s certificates Organizing local counsel opinions and other support Coordinating all aspects of the transaction closing Closing binder preparation Requirements Bachelor’s degree required Paralegal certificate preferred Minimum of 5+ years of commercial real estate and corporate experience, preferably in a law firm environment Strong work ethic Sound judgment, decision‑making and reasoning abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment Proficiency in MS Word and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Taft offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long‑term disability, flexible spending, 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, bonus, and more. The salary range for this position is $130,000/yr. – $150,000/yr. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
