Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Preparing patients for, and explaining, diagnostic imaging procedures while reducing anxiety and shielding exposed areas from radiation.
- Imaging Operations: Operating, adjusting, and maintaining imaging equipment (X-ray, CT, MRI, etc.) to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Positioning: Properly positioning patients and equipment to produce specific, requested images.
- Evaluation & Documentation: Reviewing images for technical quality and accuracy, and recording patient information in systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhering to safety regulations, infection-control policies, and radiation protection techniques.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited radiology technology program (associate or bachelor's degree).
- Certification: ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) is generally required.
- Licensing: State licensing is often required.
- Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, technical proficiency with computer systems, and ability to handle patients with care
