Description: Ensure awareness of special assignment conditions. Upon accepting an assignment, unit manager may assign to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay until the emergency event passes or be part of the relief team. Details about pay for emergency events will be provided as impacts vary. By signing the travel contract, acceptance of these conditions is confirmed. Report as assigned by the unit manager during an emergency event. Comfort with these conditions is necessary before applying.

Skills Required: Abdominal pain management, acute psychosis intervention, arterial line management, asthma treatment, management of ventilated patients, blood product administration, burn treatment, central line care and management, chest tube insertion and management, continuous IV sedation, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) management, drug overdose treatment, emergency medication administration, epiglottitis management, emergency department experience with adults and pediatrics, gunshot wound management, head injury assessment and intervention, hyperglycemia management, identification and reporting of neglect or abuse, infection management, dysrhythmia interpretation, intubation skills, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressor administration, splint application and management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management, management of violent behavior, mental and behavioral health condition care, near drowning management, neuro-trauma care, obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG, pediatric emergency care experience, phlebotomy skills, poison ingestion treatment, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, psychiatric holds, respiratory infection management, seizure management, sickle cell crisis intervention, skin disorder treatment, spinal cord injury management, starting and maintaining IV lines, STEMI certification, stroke certification, suicidal patient management, traumatic amputation care, traumatic brain injury management, triage skills, urinary tract infection management

Patient Care Details: Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census: Approximately 160 visits per day. Facility capabilities include various interdisciplinary supports: physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Patient diagnoses and special procedures are varied, with a focus on emergency care needs. Preferred charting system: Epic. No local travel candidates accepted. Must maintain updated licensure and certifications per requirements.
