High Level Responsibilities
At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serves as technical advisor to the Regional Director, staff, and line officials of the Region with respect to design and construction activities performed for completion of work through regional solicitations/specifications.
- Ensures sound engineering principles and practices are incorporated in the Region programs through coordination and planning with responsible program managers.
- Administers and coordinates, utilizes subordinate supervisors to plan, schedule, assign, set and adjust short-term priorities for work activities for assigned staff of professional, technical and administrative personnel.
- Represents the agency on highly controversial issues to develop support for water resources decisions and persuade others to accept particular actions, concepts, or approaches.
- Supervises through subordinate supervisors, the activities of the Office.
