Outside Hvac Sales

The outside sales team member will grow sales and increase company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new customers. The team member will increase profitability by promoting products, arranging technical support and training to new and repeat customers within an assigned territory.

Job duties include:

• Handling all duties honestly, following high ethical standards and presenting a professional image at all times.
• Participating with management in updating territory plan and setting sales goals and budgets.
• Determining sales potential for new and existing customers through inquiry, observation or periodical research.
• Preparing and conducting sales presentations of products to new and existing customers.
• Determining customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products.
• Identifying trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
• Increasing business and account base by finding and qualifying new business accounts using sales techniques to cross-sell and up-sell.
• Maintaining and improving customer relationships and satisfaction.
• Learning and applying new product knowledge to enhance sales and personal professionalism.
• Assisting clients with special requests and problems (supply information, resolve complaints, etc.).
• Visiting job sites as needed to assess or provide client services.
• Gathering competitive information and other market information regularly while interacting cooperatively with other members of distribution team.
• Negotiating and establishing pricing according to company's requirements for customer and transaction profitability.
• Preparing and presenting quotations.
• Communicating to the purchasing team member unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products.
• Assisting in scheduled physical inventory counts.
• Monitoring customer's current credit status and assisting in collections as needed.
• Remaining current with changes in local codes and consumer preferences.
• Following company policies and procedures.
• Remaining current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals.
• Attending company meetings and product knowledge meetings as required by management.
• Maintaining technical and computer capability to effectively use contact management, distribution and office software.
• Presenting professional image at all times to customers and vendors.
• Participating in trade association functions.
• Participating and being active in local industry organizations.
• Generating, maintaining and reviewing customer price exceptions on a regular basis.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
