Summary Nuclear Maintenance Technicians perform all types of mechanical activities by assembling, disassembling, maintaining, and repairing nuclear power plant equipment based on qualification status. This role also performs preventive and corrective maintenance for plant equipment to maintain optimum levels of equipment reliability. Basic Qualifications Nuclear Maintenance Technician I: High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED) Nuclear Maintenance Technician II: High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED); One and one-half (1½) years of directly related experience Desired Qualifications – Technician I One (1) year work experience dealing directly with mechanical, welding/pipe fitting, or valve maintenance related activities Basic electrical aptitude, or background Two-year technical school degree, or equivalent experience or training (e.g. military) Possess ACAD Accredited Program Qualification to operate Cab Operated Polar or Gantry Cranes to perform NUREG-0612 lifts in accordance with site specific load path procedures CNC machining skills and experience HVAC experience Demonstrated proficiency utilizing advanced computer skills Demonstrated experience with, and support of, following safety processes, administrative procedures and technical procedures Proven instrumentation/ electrical aptitude Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers at all levels of an organization Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work Ability to work as part of a team, be a self-starter, exercise flexibility, and take personal responsibility for assigned accountabilities Adaptability to changing processes, regulations, responsibilities, and work environments Desired Qualifications – Technician II Five (5) year work experience dealing directly with Turbine/Generators Basic electrical aptitude, or background Two-year technical school degree in mechanical maintenance or equivalent discipline. Demonstrated proficiency utilizing advanced computer skills Demonstrated experience with, and support of, following safety processes, administrative procedures and technical procedures Proven high mechanical aptitude (Rotating equipment) Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers at all levels of an organization Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work Ability to work as part of a team, be a self-starter, exercise flexibility, and take personal responsibility for assigned accountabilities Adaptability to changing processes, regulations, responsibilities, and work environments Specific Requirements This role requires the use of weight-rated equipment, with max ratings ranging from 275 lbs to 325 lbs, in order to meet the essential functions of the job.
