Job Summary Nuclear I&E Technicians perform all types of instrumentation/electrical activities by calibrating, assembling, disassembling, maintaining, and repairing nuclear power plant equipment. This role also performs preventive and corrective maintenance for plant equipment to maintain optimum reliability. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) One and one‑half years of directly related experience for Technician I; two years for Technician II Preferred Qualifications Two years of work experience dealing directly with instrumentation/electrical related activities. Basic mechanical aptitude or background. Two‑year technical school degree or equivalent experience or training (e.g., military). Proficiency utilizing advanced computer skills. Experience with safety, administrative, and technical procedures. Proven instrumentation/electrical aptitude. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of customers. Effective analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through prioritization, scheduling, planning, and execution of assigned work. Team player, self‑starter, flexible, personal responsibility for accountabilities. Ability to adapt to changing processes, regulations, responsibilities, and work environments. Specific Requirements Use of weight‑rated equipment (max 275–325 lbs). Pass the Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) test. Pass basic Maintenance Training. Gain and maintain nuclear access. Respirator clearance/SCBA. Mandatory hearing protection program. Pre‑Access drug screen. Lifting 50 pounds. Work Conditions Shift work: variable hours (e.g., 4–10 hour shifts, 5–8 hour shifts, rotating 12‑hour shifts), overtime, periodic night shift, callouts, weekend and holiday work. 25‑50% travel to other sites. Work in extreme temperatures, climbing, elevated heights, emergency response duties when minimum requirements are met.
