Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Neuro (ICU Neuro) in Madison, Wisconsin. This critical care position involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill adult patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, post-neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury, in an 18-bed Neuroscience ICU that is designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care on an 18-bed unit with a focus on neurology and trauma patients.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license
• Education Requirements: Inpatient RN experience with at least two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty they are submitting to
• Location Requirements: Madison, Wisconsin (Travelers must reside within 50 miles of the facility; locals not accepted)
• Years of Experience: 0 years minimum
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend rotation and some holidays. Will accept 4x12s or Fri-Sun block.
• Additional Information:
  • Must have experience in ICP (Intracranial Pressure) or ventriculostomy management.
  • Traveler will be required to pass telemetry test prior to starting, with specific criteria for passing.
  • Must be willing to float as needed.
  • The unit serves adult patients with neuro diagnoses such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, post-neurosurgery, and trauma.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and specialized interventions such as hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia are essential.
  • The unit is supported by multidisciplinary teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
