Payroll & Workers Compensation Officer

$18 per hour

City of Newcastle (CN) is looking for a permanent Payroll & Workers Compensation Officer to join its team. The role combines payroll expertise with workers compensation administration to support employees during critical times. Key Responsibilities Calculate and process workers compensation wage payments. Manage payroll adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting. Contribute to fortnightly payroll activities and end‑of‑financial‑year processing. Collaborate with Payroll, WHS, Injury Management and Finance teams to strengthen processes and improve data integrity. Qualifications Experience in payroll and/or workers compensation. Strong attention to detail and systems capability. Passion for continuous improvement. Benefits 35‑hour working week with flexible/hybrid work arrangements and optional 9‑day fortnight. 4 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks personal leave, and 2 additional paid public holidays. 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment.
