The concierge is the initial point of contact for potential residents, families, vendors, and the community either in person or via the phone. The concierge is responsible for being professional, polite, and will ensure all guests have a pleasant first experience with the community. The concierge serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; and notifies team members of visitor arrival and maintains security and telecommunications systems within the community. Apply today!Essential job functions:Maintains a professional personal presentationWelcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiriesAnswers the phone within three rings; determine nature of call to either relay information or route call as appropriateTakes detailed messages with name, date, time, and return phone numberEnsures team members receive their phone messages promptlyMaintains knowledge of who is available to receive an inquiry or host a tourMaintains security by following procedures, monitoring log books to include visitor sign in and sign outMaintains safe and clean reception, lobby, and welcome room areas by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsReceive and sort mail for leadership teamMaintain yearly transportation book for resident's doctor appointments as necessaryCommunicate with driver at least 24 hours in advance regarding resident appointment dates and timesReport all accidents and incidents as soon as possible to your supervisor, no matter how minorMaintain the confidentiality of residents' personal care informationHonor the residents' personal and property rightsMust be in company uniform and resident ready at all timesKnowledge, skills, and abilities:Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications to include Microsoft Office and OutlookAble to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources, and outside contactsAble to make independent decisionsMust be able to communicate in a warm, friendly, and caring mannerMust possess a passion to work with and around senior citizensKnowledge of administrative and clerical proceduresKnowledge of customer service principles and practicesEducation requirements:High school diploma or GEDExperience requirements:Two (2) years' concierge/front desk receptionist experience in a customer service-oriented industryPhysical requirements:The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:Able to sit 75% of the dayAble to concentrate with frequent interruptionsAble to work under stress and in emergency situationsAble to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and graspingAble to talk and hear effectively in order to convey messages, instructions, and information to residents and team membersOccasionally lift/carry up to 50 poundsOccupational exposure / personal protective equipment:Work in all areas of the communitySubject to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and other conditionsRequired to use personal protective equipment and supplies to prevent burns, falls, and infection and follow safety policies and proceduresRequirements for personal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves, and non-slip shoesSubject to infectious diseases, substances, and odorsFollow safety policy & procedure
