ERP Functional Manager / Director

Dynamic apparel company is seeking an ERP Functional Manager/Director to serve as the functional owner of our CGS BlueCherry ERP platform — the system of record connecting our operations, order management, production, inventory, EDI, warehousing, and finance processes. This is a hands-on leadership role at the center of an active technology agenda: a multi-party Infor Nexus P2P integration, an expanding EDI trading-partner and 3PL network, a new cloud data platform, and a steady pipeline of BlueCherry enhancements and process improvements. You will own the health, roadmap, and day-to-day effectiveness of BlueCherry across the business, manage our partnership with CGS, and ensure the platform delivers accurate, reliable data to every downstream system and team.

What You Will Own

• Platform ownership and roadmap. Define and drive the BlueCherry functional strategy, enhancement roadmap, and release planning in alignment with business priorities across order management, inventory, purchasing and receiving, item/style master, production, allocation, invoicing, and finance touchpoints.
• Vendor management (CGS). Own the CGS relationship end to end: SMP scoping and quotes, RTM and case lifecycle management, delivery acceptance, and escalation. Run a disciplined weekly cadence with CGS project management, consolidate escalations across teams, hold vendors to named owners and committed dates, and prevent premature ticket closure before internal testing is complete.
• Enhancement pipeline and delivery. Manage the intake, prioritization, bundling, and sequencing of BlueCherry enhancements — grouping related changes (for example, multiple modifications to the same EDI document) into coherent packages to control cost and avoid sequencing conflicts.
• EDI partnership. Partner closely with the EDI Lead on document mapping changes (850, 810, 856, 940, 944, 945, 832, 870, and related), trading-partner and 3PL onboarding, and resolution of production EDI issues rooted in BlueCherry configuration or data.
• Integration oversight. Provide BlueCherry functional leadership for integrations with Infor Nexus, WMS/3PL platforms, e-commerce (Shopify), Microsoft D365/Business Central, and our Azure data platform — including mapping reviews, sample generation, SIT/UAT planning, and go-live readiness.
• Data integrity and governance. Partner with the Data Governance Lead to drive master-data quality at the source: style master integrity, divisions and merchandise hierarchies, color/size standards, stage and status mapping, location and warehouse consistency, and weight/dimension data standards that downstream EDI, reporting, and BI depend on.
• Testing and release discipline. Establish and enforce structured SIT/UAT practices, test environments, validation criteria, and controlled release management for all BlueCherry changes — ensuring development is complete and tested before user acceptance and that go-lives do not proceed with known open defects.
• Security and administration. Own BlueCherry user and security group design, SRP security, and the security org chart, keeping access aligned to the organization’s structure and audit expectations.
• User enablement. Drive SOP creation, quick-reference guides, training, report cleanup and certification, and cross-training programs that build internal depth and reduce single-person dependencies.
• Team leadership. Manage and mentor ERP/WMS analysts, set priorities across support and project work, and coordinate functional ownership with PMO, EDI, Data Governance, Reporting & Analytics, and IT & Infrastructure peers in a parallel-team structure.

What Success Looks Like in the First Year

• A re-baselined, reliably executed enhancement and integration calendar, with CGS deliveries tracked to committed dates and aging cases driven to closure.
• Clean, validated BlueCherry master data feeding EDI, WMS, and the BI platform — with measurable reductions in data-driven defects, chargebacks, and reconciliation variances.
• Disciplined SIT/UAT and release management adopted as standard practice for every BlueCherry change.
• Documented SOPs and a trained, cross-functional user base that reduces reliance on individual experts and outside vendors.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of ERP functional leadership in apparel, footwear, or consumer products, with deep hands-on expertise in CGS BlueCherry (order management, inventory, production, style master, allocation, invoicing).
• Proven vendor management experience with CGS or comparable ERP vendors — SMP/statement-of-work scoping, quote negotiation, ticket lifecycle management, and escalation.
• Strong working knowledge of retail EDI (ANSI X12 850/810/856/940/945 and related documents), trading-partner onboarding, 3PL integration, and compliance/chargeback dynamics.
• Experience supporting ERP integrations with supply-chain platforms (Infor Nexus or similar), WMS solutions, e-commerce, and modern data platforms (Azure/Power BI environments a plus).
• Solid SQL skills and comfort investigating data issues at the table level; able to partner credibly with data governance and BI teams on root-cause analysis.
• Demonstrated project leadership: structured testing, UAT coordination, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Excellent stakeholder management across operations, finance, merchandising, and warehouse teams; clear written and verbal communication, including executive-level status reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience managing BlueCherry WMS, Shopify integrations, or Microsoft D365/Business Central touchpoints.
• Familiarity with master data management and data governance frameworks.
• Experience leading vendor transitions or platform stabilization efforts.
• PMP, CSM, or comparable delivery certification.
