Job Title: Assembler – 1st Shift

Job Description

This role involves assembling metal components using hand and power tools to produce high-quality customer orders in a clean, structured, and safety-focused manufacturing environment. You will build metal brackets, operate machinery to unwind copper wire, and carefully wrap the wire around the brackets you assemble, following clear instructions and training. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and has recent experience using tools such as drills, wrenches, and tape measures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal brackets accurately using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Operate machinery to safely unwind copper wire and prepare it for assembly.
• Wrap copper wire around assembled metal brackets according to specifications and instructions.
• Read and follow basic blueprints, drawings, or work instructions to complete customer orders.
• Use measuring tools, including tape measures and rulers, to ensure precise measurements and proper fit of components.
• Perform basic math calculations to verify measurements and quantities during assembly.
• Work on an assembly line or in a mechanical assembly environment to meet production goals and timelines.
• Inspect assembled components for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
• Participate in and follow a structured training program to learn processes, tools, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment responsibly.
• Perform physically active tasks throughout the shift, including standing, reaching, and handling materials.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in hands-on mechanical work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
• Ability to safely and effectively use power tools such as drills and similar equipment.
• Recent experience working with hand and power tools in a mechanical, lube tech, automotive, or similar environment.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure and ruler accurately.
• Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying dimensions.
• Ability to read and follow basic blueprints or assembly instructions.
• Capability to perform mechanical assembly or work on an assembly line in a production setting.
• Ability to perform physical work consistently, including standing for extended periods and handling materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and quality procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in lube tech, automotive repair, or mechanical work involving hand and power tools.
• in coil winding or working with copper wire and metal components.
• Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints or technical drawings.
• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in previous physical or industrial jobs.
• Comfort working in a structured, process-driven production environment.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a very clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility, providing a comfortable and consistent environment throughout the year. You will work on the 1st shift, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in a production setting that may include assembly lines and mechanical assembly stations. Safety is a priority, and employees are required to wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes while on the production floor. The role involves regular use of hand and power tools, measuring devices such as tape measures and rulers, and machinery used for unwinding and handling copper wire. The position is physically active, requiring standing, reaching, and handling materials for most of the shift, within a structured and well-organized operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GERMANTOWN, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in GERMANTOWN,WI.
