Retail Associate

This position is responsible for helping the manager of the thrift store conduct the daily operation of the Retreat Boutique Thrift Store on a part time basis, including communicating and interacting with volunteers and customers, helping out with sorting donations, facilitating a safe and healthy working and shopping environment, providing excellent customer service, and generating positive net income for the agency.

Specific responsibilities include independently running the store on given days as needed or in concert with the Store Manager, maintaining a positive working/shopping environment, ensuring store maintenance, helping oversee all aspects of receiving/sorting/cleaning/evaluating donations (clothing, accessories, shoes), managing paperwork and depositing register receipts on days worked, communicating with the Thrift Store manager on daily activities at the store, developing a positive presence in the community to promote the agency, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include being available to work weekends and holidays, English and Spanish speaking preferred, ability to lift heavy objects (40+ lbs), background in fashion retail preferred, ability to multi-task and work with a variety of people in a busy environment, strong positive interpersonal skills, valid drivers license, and knowledge of thrift store operations a plus.

Working conditions include sitting, standing, stooping, squatting, walking, and moving intermittently during work hours, may lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally, working at least 22 hours per week, and hourly rate: $22.00 per hour.
