FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Job Title Field Service Technician Location Dulles, Virginia Shift 1st Compensation Starting hourly rate: $35.00 - $49.94 per hour. Up to $5,000 sign‑on bonus available based on experience levels – $2,500 paid after 90 days and $2,500 after 180 days. Candidates with less than 3 years of heavy equipment field experience qualify for a $2,000 sign‑on bonus. Responsibilities Apply troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders. Service, diagnose, and repair all machine components and systems, including engine, air‑conditioning units, cylinders, buckets, and booms at the customer’s jobsite. Disassemble, inspect, and determine parts needed; reassemble to factory specifications. Interact with customers and answer repair‑related questions; refer non‑repair related questions to supervisor. Perform minor electrical and computer repairs. Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance, and service manuals/bulletins. Prepare parts requisitions, parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms. Document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and safe work area, tools, and equipment. Perform various other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience performing mechanical service and repairs to Caterpillar and related competitive equipment. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of engines, transmissions, and other related components. Excellent mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent driving record and ability to obtain a CDL. Ability to become DOT certified with a DOT Medical Card. Proficient in the use of technical software, databases, and manuals. Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Frequently required to sit. Regularly lift and/or more up to 70 pounds.
