Safety Specialist

Health & Safety SpecialistReporting to the EHS Manager, the primary responsibility of the Health & Safety Specialist is to be the primary contact for EHS efforts in one or more business areas (distribution, manufacturing, technical service, and/or facilities, etc.). Primarily, the support will include addressing EHS concerns/questions, facilitating corrective actions, performing risk assessments, conducting training, participating on investigation teams, documenting standards and programs, analyzing and reporting on trends, assisting with worker’s compensation, and regulatory reporting. You will work with EHS and site management teams and assist as needed to standardize across all sites in the Americas. You will work with teams that are passionate about protecting the safety and well-being of employees and protecting our environment. What You'll DoComply with ResMed Safety Policies and ProceduresRegular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibilityEnsure and evaluate site adherence to ResMed policies and programsEnsure compliance to OSHA standards, such as Lockout Tagout, Hazard Communication, and Machine guarding. Conduct risk assessments / Job Hazard AnalysisConduct site wide trainings on ResMed safety policies and proceduresConduct new hire/visitor safety orientationAssist with safety program development and documentationManages inputs/updates to safety database and document control systemsAssist site management in completion of incident reports and investigationsDevelop job-specific safety training to meet site needsProvide technical advising in support of Safety Team activities Advise and support First Responder Team activitiesMaintain safety records Maintain and promote near miss reporting programsManage site SDS libraryAnalyze injury and near miss trendsConduct site inspections/auditsLead safety gemba walks and address findings with site managementMaintain data to support tracking of weekly and monthly EHS metricsOther responsibilities as assigned by managementAssist EHS Manager with programs for Distribution, Manufacturing, Technical Service, and office operations in the AmericasSupport distribution wellbeing initiativesAbility to travel 10-15%Other duties as assignedWhat You Bring Required:Bachelor’s DegreeStrong organizational skills, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task.Strong professional communication skills, both oral and in writing. Ability to lead others. Strong knowledge of safety programs and General Industry OSHA RegulationsIntermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointEHS experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments What Sets You ApartMinimum of 5-10 years of related experience.
