Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist for an inpatient/outpatient role at a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring 1+ years of experience and pediatric expertise.

Details

• Inpatient and outpatient pediatric physical therapy setting within an acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility
• Day shift schedule, with traveler's choice of 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts
• Approximately 1-2 weekend shifts required per month
• No on-call requirements
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of pediatric physical therapy experience required, 2 years preferred
• AK PT license required (license required if applicable), BLS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with pediatric conditions including cerebral palsy, developmental delays, scoliosis, spina bifida, and torticollis
• Skilled in assessments including AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, and sensory response
• Experience with adaptive equipment, orthotics, and wheelchair assessments
• Proficient in documentation including evaluations, plans of care, and discharge summaries
• Experience with gait training and therapeutic modalities such as moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Copy of certifications and valid state license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include individualized pediatric treatment programs, milestone assessments, and patient/family education
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Hepatitis B vaccination required; titers or declinations not accepted
• Not open to local candidates; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside the 50-mile radius
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 year in this assignment, followed by a required 6-month break before returning
• RTO must be submitted at time of application and is approved individually upon offer
• Open to candidates with a pending license, though license must be in hand prior to starting
• First-time travelers considered with 2 years of experience
