Job DescriptionLocation: Must be able to work in a Wabtec hub location.Who will you be working with?You will join Wabtec’s Digital Technology team in one of our hub locations, reporting to Vice President of DI, Database & Enterprise Tools. This team is responsible for delivering mission-critical database and Oracle EBS solutions.How will you make a difference?Wabtec is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Oracle DBA to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll help power the global delivery of manufacturing solutions by ensuring our database environments are secure, high-performing, and highly available. If you're passionate about database architecture and enjoy working with cross-functional teams, this is the opportunity for you.What do we want to know about you?You must have:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience10+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise Oracle environments (12c or higher)Expertise in Oracle 19c administration and related toolsProven experience implementing Oracle 19c GRID/RAC architecture on RedHat Enterprise LinuxProficiency in SSH/KSH/BASH scriptingAdvanced Data Guard expertise (switchover and debugging)Experience with cloud environment technologies, preferably AWS, OCIKnowledge of Oracle security best practices and patching methodologiesStrong understanding of Oracle tuning and operational support best practicesOperations mindset - understanding, implementation, and operation of ITSM at scaleWhat will your typical day look like?• Install, upgrade, configure, tune, debug, and patch all components of the Oracle 19c technology stack, including Oracle GRID, ASM, Clusterware, and database instances• Install, upgrade, configure, tune, and debug all aspects of Oracle DataGuard• Monitor and tune Cloud databases and components• Monitor, patch, tune and debug Oracle EBS• Monitor database performance, space utilization, identify potential problems and ensure database availability• Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c• Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle pluggable database configurations using 19c• Designs, implements, and maintains database and database infrastructure security• Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to support COTS and/or developed products within the Oracle database framework• Implement architected HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability• Identify and develop automation of repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery using Linux scripting, SQL, PL/SQL and cron jobs• Interface and communicate effectively across various support teams and with senior management• Support 24/7/365 applications based in local data centers, the cloud (AWS & OCI)• Research technology, support business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation• Manage the general contractor DBA team to ensure they follow standards and meet SLAs• Manage ticketing and incidents in ServiceNow to ensure SLAs are met or exceeded• Other duties as assignedWhat about the physical demands of the job?• Frequently communicating with others to exchange information• Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods• Frequently repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers• Frequently assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assignedWork Environment:• The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment• Minimal travel requirements: most work can be accomplished via conference and video calls, team chats, etc.Not eligible for relocation assistance.Additional InformationOur job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $102500-146000 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
