Monitor Technician HUC

Position Summary Monitor Technician/Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital. This role plays an essential part in providing high‑quality patient care, monitoring, and mobility. The HUC serves as the primary communication source, collaborates with the Clinical Director, and supports delivery of patient services. Responsibilities Perform receptionist and communications duties on the patient care unit. Observe telemetry monitoring and recognize cardiac dysrhythmias. Support care delivery and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Utilize independent decision‑making capacities and strong interpersonal skills. Collaborate with the Clinical Director and charge nurse for optimal care delivery and patient services. Requirements High school graduate or equivalent (preferred). Completion of an approved Health Unit Coordinator vocational training course and basic arrhythmia course (preferred). One (1) year of patient care experience (preferred). One (1) year equivalent clerical experience in a medical setting (preferred). On‑the‑job training provided, including rhythm identification training and an EKG telemetry competency test (experienced techs may bypass training by passing the competency test). Pay and Benefit Expectations Competitive salary range: $25.15 – $41.57 USD. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s).
