Description Job Summary: Embryologist I reports to the laboratory director and follows corporate policies/procedures and departmental policies/procedures approved by the laboratory director. Embryologist I is responsible for developing the skills necessary for providing, along with other lab staff, quality Embryology procedure for infertile couples wishing to achieve pregnancy. These skills include technical benchwork, administrative tasks as assigned by the lab director, quality control and quality assurance activities and documentation including result reporting (paper as well as electronic). Learn Alarm System Essential Job Functions- Entry Level: Interacts with patients and staff professionally. Maintains patient confidentiality. Learns elements of patient correspondence for the disposition of their cryo stored samples. Maintains good working relationships and helps create a patient centered service environment. Communicates with other departments of Island Fertility and communicates lab information with physicians as appropriate. This includes following proper hierarchyprotocol. Learn data entry into LIS/EMR and SART Complete assigned competencies within deadline. Follows safety policies. Maintain a safe working environment. Reports promptly with utmost truth and transparency, any nonconformance/incident/deviation from standard operating procedure(s) whether involved in, discovered or observed. Complete assigned training and competencies within the deadline. Qualifications: Experience in andrology and embryology preferred 0-1 year. Excellent dexterity in both hands Extremely good hand/eye coordination Adequate vision (corrected or uncorrected) to utilize microscopy equipment effectively and perform microsurgery Ability to maintain focus and work under pressure and in an isolated clean room environment Presentation and Listening Skills Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and other Software Clinical experience in Physician Practice Excellent communication, decision making, leadership and problem-solving skills Category Provider Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Location Island Fertility - Fertility Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Position Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree 1 year of chemistry, 1 year of organic chemistry, 2 years of biology, 1 year of calculus/statistics.
