The Traffic Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily activities of hourly traffic department team members, including truck drivers, with daily dispatches, deliveries and administrative responsibilities.

Primary job responsibilities:

• Maintain D.O.T files and records on all drivers
• Process and maintain drivers' payroll files
• Audit daily logs and on time deliveries
• Positive daily communication with customers
• Responsible for after-hours communications with drivers
• Maintain positive driver and staff employee relations
• Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation and operations goals
• Confer with customers, supervisors, managers, or other personnel to exchange information to resolve problems
• Dispatch personnel and vehicles in response to reports of emergencies
• Assist in the planning of transportation routes
• Responsible for the safety of the department and security of people and resources, accident investigations and loss prevention
• Flexible to deal with issues that arise outside of normal business hours.
• Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in logistics/transportation or related emphasis is preferred
• Previous demonstrated leadership in a supervisory role in the transportation industry
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills
• Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Flexible to deal with issues that arise outside of normal business hours
