The role involves providing care for adults and geriatric patients. You will be responsible for monitoring patients with a variety of diagnoses including Stroke/TIA, Seizure, Chest Pain, and others. The unit focuses on stroke and TIA patients, as well as higher acuity med-surg patients. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The nurse-patient staffing ratio during nights is 1:6. Float requirements may involve moving to other units based on need and skill set. ADLs, medication administration, and complex patient assessments will be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to manage cardiac drips and perform various nursing procedures including blood product administration and wound care. A focus on patient experience is a key component of the unit’s operational philosophy. You must have experience in telemetry monitoring and maintaining patients on various respiratory support systems.
