Must Have Solar Manufacturing Experience

Translucent Solar is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to help build and lead our solar module manufacturing operations in Summerville, South Carolina.

This is an opportunity to do more than run production. You will help establish the teams, systems, and operating standards that shape the plant’s success—from equipment integration and production ramp-up to consistent quality, reliable delivery, and cost-effective manufacturing.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who knows solar module manufacturing, develops strong teams, and turns operational challenges into measurable improvements.

Job Duties:

• Lead plant performance. Direct daily operations to meet safety, quality, production, delivery, and cost targets.
• Build a strong team. Lead managers, supervisors, and production employees; establish clear expectations, develop talent, and coordinate staffing and employee matters with Human Resources.
• Keep production moving. Align production schedules, labor, and material requirements with Purchasing and Supply Chain to prevent shortages and delays.
• Make quality a priority. Partner with Quality to strengthen process controls, testing, traceability, and corrective actions.
• Maximize equipment reliability. Work with Maintenance and Engineering to support equipment integration, troubleshoot problems, reduce downtime, and expand production capacity.
• Drive measurable improvement. Apply lean manufacturing and production data to increase yield and throughput while reducing scrap, waste, and cost per watt.
• Champion safe operations. Partner with HSE to enforce safe work practices, protective equipment requirements, and applicable safety and environmental requirements.
• Create operational accountability. Track performance, maintain accurate production records, and report results, risks, and improvement priorities. Support production documentation needed for domestic-content and incentive-related requirements.

Education & Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education, technical training, and progressive manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
• Minimum of four years of solar manufacturing experience required, including production management and machinery operations.
• Previous experience managing a solar module manufacturing facility required, with demonstrated responsibility for safety, quality, production performance, and employee leadership.
• Proven solar manufacturing leadership, supported by strong technical knowledge
