SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR - FT- 10 HR SHIFTS (4 ON & 3 OFF)

Days and hours vary. This position is based within Jefferson Regional Telecommunication Department.

Job Summary: The PBX Operator will accurately operate the telephone console for incoming and outgoing calls, perform in-house paging, conduct answering service, maintain physician's PC database, and operate the TDD phone for the hearing impaired. This position responds to all codes and alarms quickly with appropriate priority. The PBX Operator must be knowledgeable of all equipment operating procedures.

Operator Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. This is a safety sensitive position. *

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have a year of computer experience or training
• Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
• Strong multi-tasking abilities in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
• Able to demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Requirements:

• One year of answering in a call center or company phone.
• One-year customer service experience.
• Proficiency in operating phone systems, paging systems, and basic office equipment
• Familiarity with medical terminology
