Job Summary:
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse position is located in Springfield, Illinois. This onsite role involves providing specialized patient care in a hospital setting, focusing on adult patient populations with various medical conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, and post-operative care. The position requires adherence to facility protocols and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 Night shifts (from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS and BLS; minimum of 2 years' relevant experience; Illinois active nursing licensure; no RTO restrictions beyond 5 days; experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DoU/IMC/Stepdown; interpret dysrhythmias; manage cardiac monitoring and emergency responses; experience with cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary/renal, IV therapy, medication protocols, neurological/psychiatric, and respiratory case skills; proficiency with Cerner charting system; previous charge nurse experience preferred; level I trauma experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Teaching hospital experience; Trauma Level I experience.
• Additional Information: Providing post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care, hemofiltration management, and respiratory therapies including chest tubes, NIV, and oxygen delivery. The role involves managing invasive lines, medication drips, surgical drains, and participating in rapid response teams. Orientation includes 24 hours of pre-shift training, with a virtual orientation day on Day 1. Floating to like units is required, and candidate must be willing to work every other weekend and two major holidays.
