Reconciliations Analyst

The Reconciliation Analyst supports the firm’s reconciliation function across four core streams — cash & trade, accrual & P&L, holdings & positions, and trade affirmation & confirmation (including T+0 electronic affirmation across cash and derivatives, as well as long‑form confirmation for OTC and bespoke instruments). The role focuses on ensuring the integrity of trade capture records held in the middle office against fund accounting books and records and contributing to the end‑to‑end break management process versus the fund administrator. The Analyst plays a key role in producing accurate, timely, and complete daily reconciliation output submitted to the product control group and assists in operational issue resolution across all streams. Responsibilities Perform reconciliation activities across all four streams: cash & trade, accrual & P&L, holdings & positions, and trade affirmation & confirmation. This includes monitoring T+0 electronic matching across cash securities and derivatives (via platforms such as ICE Link, CTM, or Traiana) and supporting long‑form bilateral confirmation processes for OTC and bespoke instruments. Familiarity with T+0 trade affirmation platforms (e.g., Markitwire, CTM, Traiana) and exposure to OTC confirmation processes. Execute daily reconciliation of middle office trade capture records (OMS/PMS) against fund accounting books and records, ensuring completeness and accuracy of positions, trade activity, and economic terms across asset classes prior to NAV finalization. Support the end‑to‑end break management process versus the fund administrator, including identification, classification, escalation, and resolution of discrepancies across cash, positions, and P&L, while maintaining clear audit trails and meeting defined SLA timelines. Adhere to established reconciliation policies, procedures, thresholds, and controls across all streams, ensuring alignment with the firm’s operational risk framework. Review and analyze exception and break reports, escalating issues appropriately and contributing to the maintenance of structured aged‑items tracking frameworks. Partner with counterparties, fund administrators, and internal stakeholders (including front office and product control) to assist in resolving aged, complex, or high‑impact breaks. Conduct disparity analysis across internal books, prime broker records, and administrator data, identifying root causes and providing clear commentary on key discrepancies. Contribute to the maintenance and monitoring of reconciliation SLAs, including break identification timelines, resolution targets, and escalation triggers. Support reporting on reconciliation metrics such as break volumes, aged items, STP rates, affirmation and confirmation rates, auto‑match performance, and resolution cycle times. Participate in the NAV sign‑off process by providing supporting analysis on reconciliation completeness across all streams. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to reduce manual effort, enhance control integrity, and increase operational efficiency. Collaborate with technology teams and vendors to support reconciliation platform usage, enhancements, and issue resolution. Required Experience 3+ years of fund operations or product control experience, preferably within a multi‑strategy hedge fund, prime broker, or fund administrator. Hands‑on experience performing reconciliation across multiple streams and asset classes (equities, fixed income, rates, credit, FX, derivatives). Strong understanding of reconciliation workflows, including middle office to fund accounting reconciliations. Experience supporting break resolution processes with a fund administrator, including investigation and escalation workflows. Familiarity with T+0 trade affirmation platforms (e.g., ALERT, CTM, Traiana) and exposure to OTC confirmation processes. Experience analyzing discrepancies across internal books, prime broker, and administrator records. Exposure to reconciliation reporting, SLA tracking, or operational metrics is preferred. Working knowledge of STP workflows, the trade lifecycle, and NAV production processes. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Demonstrates AI fluency by leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency, research, analysis, and workflow quality while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across front office, counterparties, fund administrators, and internal teams. Detail‑oriented with a strong controls mindset and proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks under time pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality. Analytical and data‑driven, with the ability to interpret reconciliation data and identify trends or root causes.
