Position Information Title: Part‑time Faculty, Nursing Department: Nursing Education Primary Location: N/A Hours per week: Up to 67% load; may include day, evening, or weekend work and multiple locations (San Marcos campus, off‑campus, distance education). Initial Placement Hourly Rate: $75.81 – $119.20 (instructional); $74.60 – $117.69 (non‑instructional) Retirement: Eligible to elect membership in APPLE (Accumulation Program for Part‑time Limited‑Service Employees). Job Duties The Nursing Education department is seeking qualified part‑time instructors to teach Nursing. Teaching assignments may include any approved courses within the discipline of Nursing. Minimum Qualifications Must meet all of the following requirements: A master’s degree in nursing. Current license or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in California. One year of professional experience providing direct patient care as a bedside RN within the past five years in one or more of the content areas: medical‑surgical, geriatrics, obstetrics, pediatrics, and/or psychiatric mental health nursing. Eligible for approval as an instructor by the California State Board of Nursing. Coursework completed and degrees awarded by accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign credentials must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Licenses and Certificates See Minimum Qualifications section above. Supervision Received Part‑time faculty members receive supervision from the Division Dean and guidance from the Department Chair. Pre‑employment Requirements Live scan/fingerprinting.
