Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost analysis within a dynamic production environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate product costing, analyzing operational performance, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive financial accuracy and process improvement.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update product cost structures within the ERP system to ensure accurate inventory valuation and standard costing. Analyze manufacturing costs by comparing actual production expenses to established standards and identifying key cost drivers. Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), labor rates, overhead allocations, and material costs to ensure cost accuracy. Perform variance analyses, including purchase price, production, labor, overhead, and inventory variances, and provide actionable insights. Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to strengthen inventory controls and support cycle count and physical inventory programs. Develop and manage cost estimates for new products, engineering changes, and other strategic initiatives. Support month-end and year-end closing processes through journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial data validation. Monitor general ledger activity and prepare financial analyses, including profitability and margin reporting. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, and management reporting. Participate in external audits, annual inventory observations, system enhancements, reporting improvements, and ad hoc financial projects. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or cost accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of standard costing methodologies, inventory accounting, and manufacturing operations. Solid understanding of GAAP; exposure to IFRS is a plus. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems; manufacturing ERP experience preferred. Familiarity with internal controls and compliance requirements, including SOX. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Preferred SkillsExperience with cost rollups, inventory management, and product margin analysis. Knowledge of audits, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
