A growing, well-established consumer services company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in a newly created role. The role will report directly to the Controller, who brings a strong public accounting and corporate accounting background. This position is ideal for someone with a solid technical foundation, strong attention to detail, and the desire to continue building their career in a hands-on accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Help maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately
• Support financial reporting and internal accounting processes
• Assist with accounts payable, expense review, and other accounting functions as needed
• Partner with the Controller and accounting team on process improvements
• Help prepare documentation for audits and other internal reporting needs
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Support special projects as the company continues to grow and evolve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CPA, CPA candidate, or parts of the CPA exam passed strongly preferred
• Approximately 2–4 years of accounting experience
• Public accounting experience, corporate accounting experience, or a blend of both preferred
• Strong academic background preferred
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting systems
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Professional, motivated, and eager to learn

Schedule

This role offers a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
