Job Description

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of Texas is seeking an experienced IT Operations Project Manager to lead the statewide Administrative & Legal (AL) Laptop Refresh Project. The selected consultant will manage procurement, deployment, scheduling, logistics, stakeholder coordination, and project governance activities associated with large-scale device refresh initiatives across Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of the AL Laptop Refresh Project.

• Manage project schedules, scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.

• Coordinate with OAG leadership, Service Desk, IT Operations, Information Security, and Asset Management teams.

• Oversee device imaging, deployment readiness, scheduling, and implementation activities.

• Coordinate technician assignments and statewide deployment logistics.

• Track deployment progress, completion metrics, and issue resolution activities.

• Prepare project status reports, executive dashboards, and stakeholder communications.

• Maintain project documentation including RAID logs, project plans, change requests, and closeout documentation.

• Manage multiple vendors and cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support process improvements and lessons learned for future enterprise refresh initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive IT Project Management experience.

• Demonstrated experience leading hardware deployment or enterprise refresh programs.

• Strong knowledge of SDLC, PMBOK, Agile delivery methodologies, and change management.

• Experience managing enterprise IT operations projects.

• Excellent communication skills with executives, technical teams, and end users.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience managing vendors and cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and related project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, CSM, or ITIL certification.

• Experience working with Texas State Agencies.

• Experience supporting statewide IT initiatives.

• Experience managing large-scale deployments involving 800+ devices.

• Background in IT infrastructure, endpoint management, or enterprise technology refresh programs.
