Position Summary

The Barista is responsible for preparing coffee and beverage orders, entering takeout orders into the POS system, processing payments, and ensuring orders are accurately packaged and presented. This position supports the guest experience through consistent preparation, efficient service, and attention to detail while upholding Milos’s standards of hospitality, quality, and presentation.

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, and other beverage orders according to Milos standards.
• Enter takeout orders accurately into the POS system.
• Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
• Package takeout orders with attention to accuracy and presentation.
• Ensure takeout orders are complete and prepared for timely pickup.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area throughout service.
• Follow established food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
• Work closely with the restaurant team to support an efficient and seamless service.
• Any other task as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

• 1+ year related experience in a similar position within a fine dining, high volume environment.
• Knowledge of coffee and espresso preparation and service.
• Experience with POS systems and payment processing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, bilingual a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and welcoming feedback.
• Professional demeanor, polished appearance, attention to detail with the ability to exceed guest's expectations. 
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
• May be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs at times.
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. 
• Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. 
• Prolonged periods of standing.

Compensation

• The hourly rate for this position is $18.00, with the opportunity to receive additional tips.
• The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
