Office Assistant II (Bilingual Spanish Required) - HHSA

The Position

Napa County is seeking to fill a full-time vacancy for the position of Office Assistant II to join the Self Sufficiency Services Division of the Health and Human Services Agency. This position is bilingual Spanish and requires the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.

The selected incumbent will perform a variety of general clerical duties and provide administrative support to the Self Sufficiency Services Division. Responsibilities may include responding to general questions and inquiries from the public, as well as preparing, processing, assembling, filing, and distributing a variety of documents, including reports, memorandums, correspondence, permits, applications, charts, tables, and specifications.

Depending on the needs of the Division, this position may also be assigned to the Self Sufficiency Services Call Center to perform duties as a Call Agent. In this capacity, the incumbent will assist customers by telephone, provide accurate and timely information, follow established policies and procedures, respond to questions and inquiries, and connect customers with appropriate resources and services. The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and excellent customer service when interacting with both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to adapt to a variety of assignments and work environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, whether assisting individuals in person, by telephone, or through other forms of communication. The successful candidate should demonstrate professionalism, patience, courtesy, and a commitment to providing timely and effective customer service.

This recruitment is being conducted to fill one full-time position. The list established by this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies up to one year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) - Wintertime Off (WTO).

32.0 hour of Winter Time-Off (WTO)

Position requirements include:

• Experience: One year of directly related general clerical experience.
• Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, including or supplemented by general clerical training.
• License or Certificate: Certain positions assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.

Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
