Research Technician I - Pediatrics Genetics

Position Summary The Greer lab investigates how non‑genetic information can be transmitted across generations and regulate complex phenotypes. The focus is on epigenetic inheritance in model organisms such as C. elegans, Dictyostelium, mice, and mammalian tissue culture to understand how environmental changes can affect health and lifespan. Scheduled Hours 40 hours per week. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Assist the investigator or higher‑level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including data collection, solution preparation, and equipment setup and maintenance. Maintain research files and perform data entry. Assist with general laboratory maintenance and cleaning. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Working Conditions Work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment and providing standard care to research animals. Education High‑school diploma or equivalent certification. No additional education required. Required Qualifications High‑school diploma or equivalent. No specific certification or professional license required. Preferred Qualifications Prior research experience in tissue culture, C. elegans, Dictyostelium discoideum, or mice. Grade & Salary Range Grade: R04‑H. Salary: $16.54 – $22.35 per hour.
